This change in peak voltage is highly significant because exocytosis in α‐cell is steeply voltage‐dependent, largely reflecting the voltage dependence of the P/Q‐type Ca 2+ channels that mediate the Ca 2+ entry for glucagon secretion at low glucose (Fig. 2 B ).
