A decreasing trend in the density of G0 aerogels series, from the ρ = 0.38 g cm −3 of CS1G0 sample (CS 1.7 wt%) to the ρ = 0.17 g cm −3 for both CS3G0 CS (7.6 wt%) and CS4G0 (CS 10.30 wt%) samples, reflects macroscopically the progressive incorporation of the chitosan.
