However, it has been observed that ritonavir in combination with lopinavir does not provide any meaningful benefit in the treatment of COVID-19 and therefore the level of inhibition of the protease may not be significant [ 35 ]. 4 Discussion The studies presented here suggest that ritonavir may be a possible inhibitor of the 3′ to 5′ exoribonuclease activity of the SARS-CoV-2-nsp14 enzyme.
