Although GPx enzyme activity showed a decreasing trend in patients, we did not observe significant alterations in SOD or protein carbonylation markers. 3.4 Current GD1 therapies are beneficial but do not normalize patient oxidative stress measures to the healthy control range Compared to healthy controls, treated patients continued to show lower GSH ( p = 0.001; Fig. 1 a) and catalase activity ( p < 0.001; Fig. 2 a), with corresponding increase in lipid peroxidation ( p < 0.001; Fig. 3 a), suggesting current therapies do not fully resolve systemic oxidative stress ( Table 3 ).
