A study published in 2017, which assessed the dynamics of the aetiological profile and resistance to AB for bacteria involved in EI in the USA between 2005 and 2015, showed an increasing trend (by 8.8%) of the involvement of gram-positive bacteria and decrease (by 2.8%) of the involvement of gram negative bacteria ( Table 1 ) [ 6 ].
