Statistically significant AST and ALT variations were found in patients negative both for HCV-Ab and HBsAg (−1, IQR=−5–2, P =0.03; −2, IQR=−7–2, P =0.003 respectively), whereas an ALT decrease was of borderline significance in individuals with positive HCV-Ab and/or Hbs-Ag ( Table 2 ).
