29 Despite a decreasing trend in recurrent hospitalization and ER visits across the years, the readmission rate herein remained 46.9% at the third year following index hospitalization, which is even higher than the 10–44% first‐year readmission rates observed in registry‐based studies. 11 , 29 Regarding the causes of readmission, it is noteworthy that 60–66% of readmissions were due to non‐cardiovascular causes across the 3 year follow‐up period, whereas the proportions of readmissions directly due to HF declined from one‐third in the first year to one‐fourth in the third year.
