LAWT in the middle, right parts and the mean of all three parts (left, middle, and right) were associated with CE stroke on univariable analysis (OR 1.8; CI: 1.24–2.62, p = 0.002, OR 1.55; CI: 1.08–2.21, p = 0.017 and OR 1.68; CI: 1.05–2.71, p = 0.032, respectively), as well as after adjusting for CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc score and LA diameter in the multivariable regression model (OR 1.94; CI: 1.26–3.0, p = 0.003 and OR 1.57; CI: 1.07–2.31, p = 0.021, respectively), whereas the mean LAWT only showed a borderline significant association (OR 1.66; CI: 1.0–2.75, p = 0.052). 14 out of 56 (25%) CE patients had LAA filling defects in CTA.
