Is There a Future for This Line of Research? Given the applied aspect of this research—identifying lying or truthful testimonies by individual witnesses—we are obviously not interested in social metrology, in marginally significant relationships obtained in studies with large samples of participants, or only when many factors are included in the analyses (Hartwig and Bond, 2014 ).
