After correcting for residual symptoms and lifetime MDD-episodes, metabolomic analysis was found to add new information that was not statistically correlated with any other neuropsychiatric parameter measured during remission and was highly significant in prospectively identifying the rrMDD patients at greatest risk of recurrence.
