Fluoroquinolones are selective drugs in the treatment of campylobacteriosis; however, an increasing trend of resistance in Campylobacter species isolated from human and animal origins has been reported in the USA and Canada (19–47%), European countries (17–99%), and Africa and Asia (>80%) [ 5 ].
