One potential explanation for this discrepancy is that, as the caudate begins to enlarge, the small section adjacent to the ventricular horn, or the ventricular horn itself, are slightly compressed, causing our method to detect a decreased growth rate in a very small portion of the caudate, while in reality the pattern of overgrowth in the caudate volume is increasing but not yet significant.
