Results Our results revealed a highly significant statistical rise in GDF-15 levels among studied chronic HCV patients with liver fibrosis when compared to the control group ( p < 0.01).
Borderline significant difference was revealed as regards GDF-15 ( p value 0.075) among the three patients’ subgroups using Kruskal-Wallis test but by doing post hook test using Wilcoxon rank sum test between each two groups, levels of GDF-15 were significantly higher in subgroup III patients when compared with subgroup I patients.
