Reaching a glucose value of ≤7.77 mmol/L (140 mg/dL) or 7.83–10 mmol/L (141–180 mg/dL) within 2 days after ICU admission or between 2 and 3 days in the non-ICU setting, respectively, is associated with reduced mortality, which was statistically significant in the non-ICU setting and trending toward significance in the ICU population.
