This change in temperature may affect the expansion and contraction of the cannula material which may or may not be significant.[ 4 ] The metallic tip and the cannula tubing are made up of different materials and have a different coefficient of expansion which may lead to differential size change causing loosening of cannula tip from tubings and disconnection of the same.
