We observed an overall trend in space-flown animals for increased number of branches in all six touch receptor neurons (statistically significant for ALMR and PLML) relative to ground control animals ( Figure 4 E), whereas we found the number of outgrowths was generally unchanged by spaceflight (except for PVM) ( Figure 4 F).
