On the other hand, clinical parameters that were likely to be positively associated with inflammatory bone resorption in this group did result in higher PAI scores at a highly significant level ( P < 0.001): teeth with a pain history of more than one week and root filled teeth had higher PAI scores than teeth that had not been painful for this duration or were not root filled, respectively.
