Therefore, we strongly believe that this new phenomenon coined as “selective interfacial accumulation (SIA)” provides an highly significant extension of current 3D phase separation approaches towards synthetic compartmentalized systems, and is also highly relevant to the understanding and mimicking of interlinked membrane and intracellular organisation in living systems.
