(b) Completely new applications in the use of scanners - use rugae palatine patterns on digital scans in order to identify individuals [ 18 ] - determine the occlusal contacts in a novel way [ 20 ] - display in more accurate way the interdental areas in periodontal patients directly in patients’ mouth [ 29 ] - finding centric relation only by using intraoral scanner [ 30 ] Moreover, an increasing trend is to treat patients centrally, which, according to many doctors, ensures greater stability of treatment [ 41 ].
