It may be significant to note that the lateral/basal amygdalar complex does not contact the pallio-subpallial boundary, due to the physical intercalation of the anterior and posterior radial amygdalar units between the subpallium and the remaining amygdalar pallium (Garcia-Calero et al. 2020 ; remarkably, these two radial domains express separately Lhx9 ).
