In this study, qRT-PCR detected a significant increase in the expression of AfAPX2, AfFe/Mn-SOD, and AfGST genes, and AfCAT gene was first decreased and then increased, showing an overall trend of induced increase under different concentration gradients of PEG6000 treatment, contributing to the increased drought resistance of the phytoplankton ( Fig. 6 ).
