As the MCW is a fragmented mangrove, it’s atmospheric contribution of N 2 O calculated using Wanninkhof 15 is quite small (ranging from 1.1 ± 0.2 × 10 6 μmol day −1 during post-monsoon season to 2.4 ± 1.2 × 10 6 μmol day −1 during monsoon season) and on its own may not be significant.
