Highly significant ( p < .0001) correlation was seen (R 2 = .998) for the obtained index S/C values (9.10–1.73) against the log 2 ‐transformed dilution series ( Figure S1 ), indicating that some quantitation is possible with the Abbott CMIA.
Further analysis of data subsets with similar age distribution across the three ethnicity groups (Pearson's Chi‐square test) revealed a marginally significant ( p = .04) trend toward more frequent hospitalization for Hispanic or Black/African American plasma donors in comparison to White/Caucasian American plasma donors ( Table S1 ), despite the underrepresentation of elderly donors in this subpopulation.
