The concept, and the late Foucault’s investigations, are extremely significant because they break with his previous and most popular arguments, according to which the conception of health ― with particular reference to modern West of the last few centuries ― would relate to the medical gaze and social institutions, whose main scope is to produce docile bodies for the maintenance of social order ( Randall and Munro, 2010 ).
