We identified biomarker signatures by Pearson correlation of the clinical parameters with proteins that were quantified in BALF in at least 20 patients (Dataset EV6 ), revealing highly significant correlations of distinct sets of proteins with several lung function parameters, including Diffusing Capacity For Carbon Monoxide (DLCO) or plasma levels for lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) (Fig 4C ).
