Based on 28 populations, we found a highly significant negative ( p < .001) relationship between the proportion of pubescent‐achene plants and among‐site variation in climate (PC1) space (Figure 3 ), suggesting that the variant with glabrous/sparsely hairy achenes could be more tolerant of higher precipitation and lower (winter) temperatures than the pubescent morph.
