Although there was a positive trend, none of the egg counts obtained with any of the techniques can be reliably applied in order to infer the number of adult nematodes infecting the host ( F = 3.05, 2, 66 d.f., p = 0.054; Fig. 2 ), and counts in urine can, therefore, provide only guidance on the parasite intensity in wild boar.
