In each subgroup, 219 patients (61.17%) were men, and patients between 65 and 69 years of age constituted the most common age group ( Figure 2 ). The proportion of patients with COPD was comparable between matched cohorts, and there was a trend toward significance with regards to smoking and diabetes status ( Table 2 ).
