As airway edema can be a life-threatening event, research on any factor that contributes to its development is highly significant The traditional belief of anesthesiologists is that generous administration of fluid to the patient while in prone position is the important contributor of airway edema, however limited research is available to quote such belief Hence, this research which is based on quantifying the airway narrowing on the basis of CLT has shown that larger volume of fluid administered to the patient has a definite influence on the airway narrowing, thereby increasing the chances of airway edema.
