licheniformis significantly down-regulated the expression of Claudin-3 mRNA in the jejunum of SNE-infected broilers on day 25 and a decreasing trend was also observed in the enramycin group, indicating that B. licheniformis and enramycin can reduce the intestinal C. perfringens adhesion by down-regulating Claudin-3 mRNA levels, thereby protecting the intestinal mechanical barrier and paracellular permeability.
