In men, the high‐muscle–low‐fat‐mass phenotype (HR, 0.40; 95% CI, 0.21–0.77; P =0.01) was significantly associated with lower cardiovascular mortality, while the high‐muscle–high‐fat‐mass phenotype (HR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.53–1.04; P =0.08) showed a nonsignificant trend to association with lower cardiovascular mortality.
