MPE values of Phe and Tyr in plasma samples from the same mice over the same time course were measured by GC-C-IRMS and are shown in Supplementary Figure 1 . The highest enrichment for 13 C 6 -Phe was detected at 10 min after bolus injection followed by a decreasing trend over time.
