As research has shown favourable health effects of co-participation in DMU [ 19 , 21 , 36 , 37 , 38 , 39 , 40 ] and PA [ 30 , 31 , 32 , 35 ], the ecological factors recognised in this study as correlates of co-participation may be significant for children’s health and development and contribute to sociodemographic differences in health.
