Accompanied by this, microerosions, defined as an exposure of the lamina propria to the lumen with multiple cells being shed per site, were highly significant more frequent in patients with FA compared to those without: 25 out of 27 patients (92.6%) exhibited microerosions in the terminal ileum whereas only 8 out of 33 patients (24.2%) without FA had microerosions during CLE in the terminal ileum ( p < 0.0001, Fig. 3 ).
