Correlating the metabolic delta in somata of single neurons with the overexpression strength of APP ( τ = −0.244, p = 0.0007), BACE1 ( τ = −0.239, p = 0.0002), and APPswe ( τ = −0.231, p = 0.0007) revealed highly significant negative correlations for all overexpressed proteins, with smaller metabolic deltas upon a higher overexpression strength ( Figures 4A–C ).
