In the current MEG study, we replicated their results and similarly observed an alpha suppression pattern in the sensory region (with peak source at paracentral sulcus, though the cortical localization effect yielded a statistical trend) in an earlier time window (probably due to onset latency) which represents gating sensory information to the sensorimotor cortex in response to observing painful stimuli.
