Nevertheless, the clinical data obtained from the individuals enrolled in this study revealed an almost significant alteration of platelet numbers, probably due to alternation of the coagulative cascade and platelet activation pathway related to COVID-19 infection, as demonstrated by other studies [ 27 , 28 , 29 ].
