Our observation that the adverse joint effect of NAFLD and sarcopenia on mortality remained markedly significant even after adjustment for other metabolic comorbidities and advanced fibrosis emphasizes the need to perform stratified analysis by risk factors when seeking to predict long‐term prognoses in subjects with metabolic derangements.
