While no individual study identified decreased efficacy of the antineoplastic agents, a meta-analysis in 2005 noted a nonsignificant trend toward lower response rates in those patients treated with anthracyclines in combination with dexrazoxane versus those patients assigned to anthracyclines alone (relative risk: 0.88; 95% confidence interval: 0.77 to 1.01; p = 0.06) (16) .
