It has been speculated that partial liver herniation, which is a common finding in the RCDH, may block the further herniation of hollow viscera, preventing the development of gastrointestinal symptoms.[ 1 , 2 ] There has been an increasing trend towards thoracoscopic repairs, which are thought to minimise post-operative pain and scarring and hasten recovery.[ 1 , 2 , 3 ] Stable babies were tried minimal access surgery thoracoscopic or laparoscopic placation; however, in technically difficult situations or in medical instability, they were converted to open procedures.
