A study conducted in central Nepal has shown that the prevalence of undernutrition (measured in terms of underweight and stunting) is higher among boys than girls, which was not attributed to any specific reason in the study; however, it suggested that favoritism of boy child which is common in the country might not be significant in the studied community.
