Individual root volume showed an increasing trend in both seasons up to a root age of approximately 37 days of age (i.e., Pr5 in spring and Pr8 in autumn) and the phytomer age effects were confirmed as statistically significant ( p = 0.028 for regression coefficient, Figure 3 C).
