A pilot study by Karis Kin-Fong Cheng on the use of chlorhexidine and benzydamine oral rinses in the prevention and treatment of OM, was consistent with the previously discussed works, and reported a decreasing trend in the severity of oropharyngeal mucositis in patients receiving benzydamine compared with the ones having chlorhexidine.
