Here, upon IHNV infection, extremely significant changes of gills’ histology were detected at 4, 7, and 14 d post infection, and moderate changes of gill damage were observed at 21 and 28 d after infection, when compared with that of control fish, as evidenced by wider and shorter secondary lamellae with edema ( Figures 4A, B ).
