With a highly significant pathological complete response of 49% (versus 23% in AC patients; p = 0.008) and estimated 5-year survival benefit from combination chemoradiotherapy compared to surgery alone (AC: p = 0.049; SCC: p = 0.011), it is evident that this patient subgroup had a major benefit from this therapeutic intervention [ 10 ].
