These differences may be significant as recent evidence suggest that fundamental motor skills in boys and girls may defer across the preschool period ( 32 ) and it has also been reported that 4-year-old boys assessed by the M-ABC were found to score lower on the manual dexterity and balance score compared to the girls ( 33 ).
