The 7-day mortality (aOR = 1.29, 95% CI 1.01–1.66, P = 0.044) and in-hospital mortality (aOR = 1.21, 95% CI 1.00–1.46, P = 0.052) risks were also higher for patients admitted on weekends compared to those admitted on weekdays, although the difference was only borderline significant (Table 2 ).
