Discussion The prevalence of HTN in adults was 36% (age-adjusted 25.8%), with an increasing trend over the past decade, which indicates that this cardiovascular risk factor in Yazd Greater Area has a higher prevalence than in other regions of Iran. 15 In our study, male gender, older age groups, lower education, overweight or obese, and DM were found to have a positive association with HTN.
