w AlbB maintained strong viral inhibition following high-temperature rearing, showing a highly significant effect of the strain on viral infection intensity and prevalence, compared with the wild-type group ( Fig. 3A and B ). w AlbB had a negative effect on viral load in salivary glands ( P = 0.020, χ 2 df=1 = 5.42) regardless of larval rearing regime, and significantly decreased the probability of infection ( P < 0.001, χ 2 df=1 = 27.70), with the odds ratio for infection relative to the wild-type control of 0.077.
