Although a decreasing trend in fatal melanoma cases is observed in the United States and the majority of European countries [ 14 , 15 ], as a result of early detection and the clinical use of the BRAF V600 /MEK inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors for advanced stage melanomas [ 16 , 17 ], the incidence and mortality rates are still unacceptably high [ 14 , 18 ].
